Need For Speed ProStreet

Need For Speed ProStreet is the newest part of EA's Need For Speed- series. Unlike its street racing predecessors, in ProStreet the racing occurs on actual racetracks (it's odd, that they still named the game ProStreet). The idea of the game is to win race days to proceed further in your career. There are four race types in the game: standard race, drifting, drag racing and speed challenge (in the last one, the objective is to drive to the finish line, but the tracks can be very challenging, because the speeds can go up to about 186 mph!). There are also five “kings” in the game: drifting king, speed challenge king etc. As the last king is the Showdown king, Ryo.

The controls of the game are good, and the bending rear buttons are used cleverly as gas and brake. The behaviour of the cars is modelled well, although the full turn of the stick of the Sixaxis does practically nothing. The game also supports Logitechs Driving Force Pro, Driving Force Ex and G25 Racing Wheel steering wheels. And for a more realistic feel, You can buy a gaming seat, like Playseats.

There are enough cars in the game, not too few, but there isn't a granturismolike stack of 500 cars. Some examples of the cars are Porsche, BMW, Mitsubishi, Chevrolet and Lamborghini, but cars like Mercedes, Ferrari and Aston Martin, would be a nice add to the selection. I didn't get the Internet game mode to work, but I guess they work at least in theory... But still, the Internet is a nice add to the game, because you can download updates to the game (for example the Coca-Cola Zero -update gives two cars for free, Seat Leon Cupra and the -69 Plymouth Road Runner, and two tracks, Tokyo Expressway and the Leipzig Porsche test track)

The graphics of the game are marvellous, although “only” 720p HD-quality, so it look beautiful to watch a shiny Porsche 911 speeding in the most wonderful environments... The tuning of the cars works well indeed. There is a vast ocean of different motors, brakes and chargers. On the outside, there are even more different kinds of rims, hoods and rocker panels etc. And with the NFS's own Autosculpt-system You can modify the parts to almost whatever You want.

... and the blog was without form, and void...

A long time ago I took my first step into the world of videogames. I soon found out, that the commercial gamereviews were written in a style, that I thought too adultlike. As a gamer, I want an analytic description of the game. So, I wrote a blog about it...

From now on, I am going to rate the games by many categories, not with an allmighty rating of five stars... The rating will be perfect only after Your comments. So, let’s get on with it!
